Here is the list of races included in the GVS Main Club Championships for 2024.

New for 2024: To get championship points for a race, you must represent GVS in that race. This means you must enter with Goyt Valley Striders as your club (or let the Championship Secretary know if this is not possible). You must also wear a Striders top during the race. For parkrun, you need to sign in and set us as your primary group; there is, however, no requirement to wear a GVS vest at parkrun.

Changed for 2024: If you take part in at any 5 of the races, you can receive a GVS Championship T-shirt at the next AGM. This is optional and, as part of our sustainability programme, you will only receive one if you say you want one.

Notes:

First Strider to finish a race gets 60 points, second 59 and so on. This is also true for Vets categories. In the event of a tie, both runners will receive the same score.

Your best 8 scores from each of the races will be used to calculate final standings. To qualify you must complete at least one race from each category (Road, Trail and Fell) and at least one race of each distance (Short, Medium and Long). We use FRA fell race categories to determine championship distances: under 10k is Short, between 10k and 20k is Medium, and over 20k is long.

All races will be decided by chip timing where it is available, otherwise timing is decided by the published official results. In cases where the championship states that runners may enter on more than one occasion (eg parkrun), positions will be determined by ordering everyone's best time.
