Here is the list of races included in the GVS Main Club Championships for 2023. We are hoping all races will go ahead as planned. If this proves not to be the case, substitutions may be made. Some links may refer to last year as not all info may have been updated.
This year once again we will use the FRA fell race categories to determine our championship distances. Under 10k is classified as a short race, between 10k and 20k is a medium, and over 20k is long. Links to results will be available here as soon as we find out where to find them… Please be patient; some organisers are quite slow to publish results.
We hope lots of members will take part. Good Luck!

Notes:
First Strider to finish a race gets 60 points, 2nd 59 and so on. This is true for also for Vets categories. In the event of a tie both runners will receive the same score with the next person getting the next but one score.
Your best 8 scores from each of the races will be used to calculate final standings. To qualify you must complete at least one race from each category (Road, Trail and Fell) and at least one race of each distance (Short, Medium and Long). If you do a qualifying set of races and at least 8 races you will be asked if you would like a GVS Championship T-shirt at the next AGM. This is optional and as part of our sustainability programme you will only receive one if you say you want one.
All races will be decided by chip timing where it is available, otherwise timing is decided by the published official results. In cases where the championship states that runners may enter on more than one occasion eg Park Runs, positions will be determined by ordering everyone's best time.
Dates listed here may be subject to change. Accurate dates are shown where possible but some races may not have been announced for 2023 and dates are based on previous events. Similarly some race links are not yet available and the a previous one is included here where possible. Please check for updates.
(tbc) = to be confirmed. Provisional dates may mean this list changes slightly if dates clash once the correct dates are known.
A downloadable Calendar file is included for you to automatically add these dates to your phone, tablet or desktop calendar applications. Thanks Aidan Grant for creating this for us, Click:- HERE
